Area of Concentration

PPGH’s area of concentration is Social History, understood as involving close contact with the Social and Human Sciences, in which intensive documentary research is linked with a conceptual framework updated by constant historiographical debate, with the aim of producing a wide-ranging approach to human experience over time. It runs from the study of remote Celtic cultures to global history in the present, which enables us, as a center of education and training, to receive researchers with different academic profiles. In this sense, the current scope of PPGH’s academic structure is characterized by the transversality of the lines of research in the thematic sectors, which organize the study of social relations in relation to historic time. The thematic sectors are composed of a diversified set of research groups and laboratories, spaces which guarantee a favorable ambience for the production of knowledge at an international level, through the constant theoretical, methodological, and historiographic updating of PPGH’s lines of research.
