UFF’s Post-Graduate Program in History has as its focus the area of Social History, and is organized in thematic sectors, consisted of different research laboratories and centers, acting in three major lines of research:
Culture and Society
Studies in symbolic manifestations in societies and their forms of production, diffusion, reception and reproduction, approaching themes related to mentalities, the imaginary and representation.
Power and Society
Studies about power relations in its formal and informal dimensions, approaching themes as: State, institutions, actors and political thought, international relations, political regimes and systems, culture and power and micropowers.
Economy and Society
Studies in economic production following two main sub-themes: 1) ways and relations of production, of appropriation and of work; 2) social agents and modalities of production organization.
